BARRINGTON WALKOUT

Before:

An original 1950s basement lounge with original woodwork and furnishings. It was closed off, with a wall that split the length of the basement in half. With a small dated bathroom and a giant boulder-framed fireplace, the space was less than desirable for this family's lifestyle.

After:

With existing walls removed, new walls were thoughtfully space planned to create an open layout with distinct living areas. A cozy family media zone with storage for kid's games, toys, crafts, etc. A workout room with a custom-designed board & batten focal wall and storage cabinets utilizing space under the stairs. An alluring lounge space for intimate conversations by the fire, and a entertainment based dining area with an open back bar wall. Along with function for the client's lifestyle, the design focus was to keep it sophisticated, upscale and add a touch of whimsy.

BARRINGTON BEDROOM

Before:

An uninspired space that was dark and unwelcoming. Described as "just somewhere we go at the end of a long day to sleep". The goal was to create a beautiful, inviting bedroom oasis the clients would yearn to spend time in before going to sleep.

After:

A cozy haven with playful use of textures to tantalize the senses, with a neutral timeless backdrop that helps exude comfort and calmness. The walls received a fresh coat of light greige, but the focal wall behind the bed kept the existing charcoal hue. Though it originally lent to creating a gloomy feel, the large scale natural wood lattice helped to give the wall a fresh, brighter disposition. It became the perfect backdrop for the light weather wash finish of the oversized headboard, that picks up tones of color in the bedding accents.
